Lifter WordPress LMS Plugin offers built-in support for Prerequisites.
You can set Prerequisites for Courses, Lessons and Course Tracks.
Lifter WordPress LMS Plugin: Course Prerequisites
To add a prerequisite to a Course…
Go to Courses > [Course Title] > “Course Options” > “Restrictions”
- Check ‘Enable Prerequisite’ to enable a single course prerequisite.
- ‘Choose Course Prerequisite’ (Course) from the dropdown.
You can only choose one prerequisite for each Course.

What if you want a Course to have more than one Course Prerequisite?
To do this, you’ll want to use ‘Course Tracks.’ Course Tracks are a great way to organize your Courses. A Course can be in more than one track.
Course Tracks work like WordPress categories. After you create a Course Track, you can add it via the ‘Course Tracks’ panel from any Course page.
To add a ‘Course Track’…
- Go to Courses > Tracks >
- Enter a ‘Name’ in the field under “Add New Course Track”
- Click ‘Add New Course Track’ to save
To add a ‘Course Track’ to a Course…
- Go to Courses > [Course Title] > “Course Tracks”(panel) >
- Check the box next to any Course Tracks that the Course should be a part of.
- Click ‘Update’ to save your Course
To add a ‘Course Track’ as a Prerequisite…
Go to Courses > [Course Title] > “Course Options” > “Restrictions”
- Check ‘Enable Prerequisite’ to enable a single course prerequisite.
- ‘Choose Prerequisite Course Track’ (Course) from the dropdown.
- Click ‘Update’ to save your Course
You can only choose one Prerequisite Course Track for each Course.
Lifter WordPress LMS Plugin: Lesson Prerequisites
By default, a course Lesson has no prerequisites.
To add a prerequisite to a Lesson…
Go to Lessons > [Click on Lesson Title you want to add Prerequisites to] > “Lesson Settings” > “Prerequisites”
- Check ‘Enable Prerequisite’ to enable a single lesson prerequisite.
- ‘Choose Prerequisite’ (Lesson) from the dropdown.
- Click ‘Update’ to save your Lesson
You can only choose one prerequisite for each Lesson.
